I'm 5'-11" The trim is not actually nailed down yet in the first few pics. I may do some painting tomorrow. It wasn't quite flush with the door frame at the top and bottom before, looking much better now. I also spent about two hours throwing down a base coat on that back wall. I'll probably do a thin coat of a really dark blue on top of that. I tried to brush the paint on in a thin coat in order to preserve the appearance of the wood grain. Hopefully, If I continue in this method - each subsequent coat will turn out the same way. However, I started thinking that it may shorten the life of my box. Due to the size of the thing, it's going to have to live outside. I rather like the various concretey weathering methods some of you have used, but seeing the way that it looks with the woodgrain showing through blue paint - i'm not sure i'm going to cover that with concretey effects. I realise that real police boxes were concrete, but I just love the wooden look of the NST. I think I'll just let Mother Nature handle the weathering. I was intending to scruff up my new lock from lowes, but I happend upon this old thing instead. The sand paper and wirebrush scratching is a good idea, but I haven't tried it. Of course, if you don't like the results - you can get a replacement cylinder for 5 dollars. This would seem like the best way to achieve a natural result, as the scratching on an old lock would have come from years of attempting to get the key in in the dark. If you try it, I'm anxious to see how it comes out.
