yea i use the board when she comes apart or being moved. i screw the brace into the frame on both sides, my doors don't swing forward because of the steps at the top (they are the only ones attached to the walls).
my screws were a bit to long and it bent the plate on the front of the lock and then the key wouldn't turn. i got a new lock and cut the screws down to the smallest section on the screws.

Damn, I never thought of cutting the screws! and here I am tacking scrappy bits of wood to the back of my doors. Oh well

not quite the color i was going for, it looked darker on the sample card in the store. I quite like it, though. I'll probably do a thin coat of a really dark blue on top of that.

The paint goes on...and exilea gets green-eyed! The blue really brings it to life! I agree, a little darker should do the trick.
So I guess we need to start collaborating on a script then, eh?

Still gotta do two walls and a roof. and lots of paint. Could have gotten a third wall done today, but I got to thinking about paint yesterday, and I couldn't resist.

Hi Willytron This is known as the "blue paint moment" I remember it well, as do all the other builders. Looking forward to the "assembled moment" too. Great stuff son KB

Hey, that's starting to come along really rather nicely there - and yes, the "blue paint moment" can be very satisfying in deed! Keep up the great work.
I also think that I'm going to have to change the "Most Recent Posts" to 30 as I seem to miss countless stuff here - so much activity of late.

If we kept it to a half-sized TARDIS and larger, I would say it would be an average of 1 TARDIS for every state in the whole of the US. So let's say around 50. Canada would probably have 10ish? We have to keep in mind some of these builders are not on or are lurkers to this board. Bill "the Doctor" Rudloff

Thanks for all the comments, everyone. Makes me smile alomost as much as the "blue paint moment" did. I tried to brush the paint on in a thin coat in order to preserve the appearance of the wood grain. Hopefully, If I continue in this method - each subsequent coat will turn out the same way.

I wanted to use the wire brush method to weather the box, that is my favorite feature of the NST.
![[image] [image]](http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg289/WILLYTRON/tvprop.jpg) However, I started thinking that it may shorten the life of my box. Due to the size of the thing, it's going to have to live outside. I rather like the various concretey weathering methods some of you have used, but seeing the way that it looks with the woodgrain showing through blue paint - i'm not sure i'm going to cover that with concretey effects. I realise that real police boxes were concrete, but I just love the wooden look of the NST. I think I'll just let Mother Nature handle the weathering.

no, no, no. Didn't mean to mislead you. The lock in the pics is a different lock, it is actually old. I was intending to scruff up my new lock from lowes, but I happend upon this old thing instead. The sand paper and wirebrush scratching is a good idea, but I haven't tried it. Of course, if you don't like the results - you can get a replacement cylinder for 5 dollars.
Sorry, I wasn't very clear.

if I were you, I'd dull it down with sandpaper, and then do the scratching with an old key (One you don't use for anything important). This would seem like the best way to achieve a natural result, as the scratching on an old lock would have come from years of attempting to get the key in in the dark. If you try it, I'm anxious to see how it comes out.
