Hi all,
Anyone know of the where abouts of the real props used in the show after all these years (full sized and small scale)? Do they end up in private collections? Do they get auctioned? Or does the BBC hoard them all?

Regards!

Bit of all three I think Macros!
Please correct me if I'm wrong (I often am ) but isn't there a picture of the McCoy TARDIS in your garden Dale?

In short, the Hartnell to Tom Baker box was reportedly junked. The mid Tom Baker box is in private hands, as is the first of the two fibre glass 1980s props - the other is still retained by the Beeb. The two TV Movie boxes were junked (supposedly) and obviously there are the current ones. The 1960s movie props are no more and the More than 30 Years TARDIS is also owned privately.

Part true, part not true. Andrew Beech does have the first 80's prop, whereas the BBC has the second 80's prop. Andrew also has the Five Doctors console. The owner of the Who shop doesn't seem to have the Peter Cushing Box, as much as she proclaims. We determined that the Cushing box as destroyed in an Avengers episode by a baby buggy bomb. What prop she has, we don't know its origin. Bill Rudloff

Yes I remember that episode. Horrified me it did, watching the Tardis being blown up!
Elsewhere on this board (or possibly on GallifreyBase) it's been commented that the box was either redesigned or rebuilt between the two Cushing movies. So that means there were two. If one was blown up by Purdey & Co...what happened to the other one?
Hmm? Yes? What m'boy?

The battered old eighties box, which used to sit outside the audience entrance at BBC Television Centre, is now in the prop store at Upper Boat, Cardiff.

The one the BBC has (the MK2), they still have. Last I heard it got moved to Wales for safer keeping. The box at Panopticon would have been the MK1 '80's prop Andrew Beech has. Bill Rudloff
