2005 plans or dimensions? « Result #5 on Dec 6, 2009, 7:39pm »
Are there any plans for the 2005 Tardis anywhere? I've seen references to a thread called, "New 2005 Tardis - Specs / Measurements needed" but I can't find it.

Here's the roof! I must have spent 10 hours trying to get this to fit together. I had to remember my sine, cosine and tangents to get the correct angles, and even then when I cut the wood, did they fit together?! Lots of further cutting and sanding down. Unfortunately, I had 5mm gaps between the triangles which I think using wood filler was a mistake.
I used door hinges to fix the four triangles of the roof together. I now have to decided whether to stock with the wood filler and paint with the liquid rubber paint, or whether to redo the gaps with something else. Still, it is coming along nicely.
Seen them all now, and they're great! Is there no end to your talents? Out of curiosity, how long does it take to make a video from start to finish, say a 5 min one for example?
Thanks Mark, difficult to say, for the 2001 Who anim, I'd built all the characters (apart from Matt) over the last year or so in my spare time. What I did was build the 2001 sets, make Matt and animate and render - that took just over two weeks. It was in the Guardian online! http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2009/dec/02/youchoose-videos-youtube
Did anyone here get the Guardian yesterday, the 3rd? I think it might have been in the Technology section...but I didn't see the paper. TG

Saw three interesting TARDIS related things on ebay earlier however I'm using my mobile which means it would take until the auctions finish to finally get links posted here!
Oddly they were all the same starting price so for your 500 quid you could have br] 1) A full size TARDIS police box which is nice but not all that acurate especially in the sign box area.
2) A pc built into a police box. Quite pleasing to the eye, and fairly acurate. You even get a mouse and keyboard in TARDIS blue!
3) A very acurate Troughton TARDIS model, think about 18 inch high. Really good workmanship.

Thanks to Timegirl's choice of colour, I went to down to B&Q and decided to opt for the Venetian Crystal 1 gloss colour. Last night, I painted one side of all 8 panels, and hope to finish them tonight. It looks so much better than the first colour!
My kids are away for one night, and wifey's out as well so I should be able to start and finish the roof this weekend.

I saw this and thought of the old TARDIS building crew. Snoezelen is a company that specializes in products for sensory rooms made for people with disabilities or for elders with Alzheimer's disease and dementia. It's kind of like sensory therapy with lights and sounds and smells and textures. Anyway, they made these really cool bubble light columns that I think would be sweet inside a time rotor. http://www.snoezeleninfo.com/bubbleTubes.asp

Good news! Even though the MagePro TARDIS has been confined to storage (There isn't room in my garage due to the weather and the holidays.), I've finished the electronics and I'll be re-doing the top light fixture right after Christmas.
We have space dibs on the new Who North America building for finishing the construction. It will make a refreshed appearance at this next years' Gencon 2010. I don't know if it will make Marcon or not yet. I'm waiting to see where WhoNA will be this next year.
I will add photos and details on the electronics as I go.
