Wow Jon - that colour is great! I bet you'll hate to disassemble this thing for the winter now that it's so close to looking complete - anyway, whenever you get back to the rest - keep up the good work!
cheers Chris

Looks gorgeous! Coming along very nicely. Take care with those pieces when you move them. My box got pretty banged around when I moved.
I've found the best way to get good pictures is to turn off the flash on your camera and put it on a tripod. Even a stool or table is a lot better than hand-held, as without flash, the camera will need a much longer exposure and any movement will result in a lot of camera shake. Sometimes I use halogen work lights to get some extra lighting. Fluorescent lights are a problem because they flicker at 60Hz, so the brightness of the room varies hugely depending on when the shutter happens to be open.

Hi Jon There's nothing quite like that "Blue paint" moment is there. It's looking absolutely fantastic and you must be pleased as punch. I congratulate you son! Season 28, emotional twist? To quote the immortal Al Jolson "You ain't seen nothin' yet!" Your mate KB

Okay Guys!! You are all the greatest! I am so glad to have met you all. Thanks for you words of encouragement and assistance throughout the build. I will reassemble the build in my basement, and I will take special care to watch so I don't chip or bang up the TARDIS. I am going to get the sign boxes made next and get my signs made up. I need to find a local sign shop. I'll keep the pictures coming. I am so excited. And yes Tom, I am a happy Whovian (13 at heart) for sure, standing in my nearly build police box...
Justin - the colour "Cardiff Blue" is a Ralph Lauren interior colour featured at Home Depot. I had them colour match it in Glidden's Exterior Satin Finish. I can post the formula if needed... I know Karst has the same colour picked out as well. I might want to add a little black watered down to give it that weathered look too, if that's how it's done?
Well, gotta run mates. I will post more in the days to come.
Thanks for being such great friends, Jon

HOLY CRAP JON, That is beautiful. Now that I see Cardiff Blue on your Box I know I made the right decision for when mine gets the final paint job. Your build and workmanship is amazing. I am soooo jealous you have come so far. WOW. Awesome job is all I can say. The pictures are great. Showing them to the Mrs right now. She is actually the one that first found the Cardiff blue for me. Seemed fitting, funn you found the same color on your own too

TG - I was wondering where you have been. I have not seen much of you lately. I know life does get busy... Thanks for your help and comments... How is you build coming along?
Karst - Thanks for the kind words.. I think the colour turned out quite nice. I used a shade just a tad bit lighter than the Cardiff blue (very slight difference) in order to match it to the exterior colour. If your interested, I send you the reference number so you can check it out at the Home Depot. The new Mrs. Karst has great taste.. What else can I say? Please pass that on to her. So, how's you build coming? Your thread has been quiet... I am so very eager to see your build come together as well. It was not that long ago that you sent me a boat load of info to get me started. Seems like yesterday!
Great friends indeed!! We Whovian's have so much in common!

For those interested in the Cardiff Blue Colour with slight variation.
Here's the formula on the can from Home Depot: Colour Palette number 5088 07/086 --> in the big colour swatch book 1. Glidden Evermore Satin Premium Ext. Paint, Base2 EM 6912 2. Colorant: B = Lamp Black 6oz - 12/48th's - 0/96 E = Thalo Blue 4oz - 18/48th's - 0/96 V = Magenta 2oz - 30/48th's - 0/96.
Cheers, Jon

Hey Thanks Jon, that helps I will definatately get that color made up for the box. I know my thread has been very quiet, I am waiting for updates. I had one small update recently but not really enough to post it on my thread <sigh> Hopefully soon I will have something more to report. In the meantime your build keeps me going. I have thought about the 2005 colour as well. I plan to build a smaller 2005/06 TARDIS for the inside of the house, to hide a hidden room kinda thing. The 2005 colour has me a little puzzled. It looks kinda like Cardiff blue maybe weathered, but there is also some aqua tones to it too. Each time I see different pics of the 2005/06 TARDIS it has a slightly different colour hue (if that is spelled right).

Hey everyone! My thread has been dead since October. I am in a holding pattern with my build, but promise to have more pics to post in the next up coming months and that's a promise!
I wanted to post a couple of pics for a very good friend. Our very own KB (Chris) and his mum have done something very special for me. I asked Chris a couple months back if he knew were I could get a "Tom Baker" Scarf. He said he would looking into the matter.
Well, on my birthday I received a package from Eden bridge, England from our very own KB. In this package was a beautiful scarf, hand crafted by his dear mum who is in the hospital (and I hope you don't mind that a mention that Chris) and her nurse, who wanted to learn how to knit.
I was absolutely beside myself! What an outstanding gift! It was so heart felt. It really is another statement of how great the people are on this forum.
I told Chris that I would post a picture of me in my new scarf. I decided to take it to my office and wear it for a day and share the wonderful story, so here's a couple of pics... The scarf looks far better than its owner

Chris, please print these pics out for dearest mum and her nurse. Please tell them both that I am so grateful for her hard work and dedication. Her thoughtfulness has touch me deeply!
Cheers, Jon

Hi Jon and Hi all
Many, many thanks for all the kind remarks for me and mum. The good news is, mum finally came out of hospital yesterday after six weeks. She has had surgery and will take a while to fully recover, but she's on the "Home straight" at last. I showed her the pictures while she was still in, and I think most of the staff and patients in Mayday Hospital, Croydon are now fans of our Dr. Iz
The scarf story is not quite over so watch this space....

I read the entire topic, and the TARDIS looks great, but I'm confused as to what style this is supposed to be? 2005 to present?
