I don't think it's a new series specifically... as it was built from two set of generic plans, and Jon's got a fresnel for a lamp lensas opposed to the new series garden lamp variety. Old series generic, therefore.

Hi I actually sent Jon the new series B&Q lamps last year as well, just to confuse things more. While I'm here I might add that I'm really looking forward to Jon kicking off again when he finds the time. Many thanks KB

Oh, trust you, LOL!! Okay... changes answer to either. But it's definitely a TARDIS, and a very good one at that!

Okay mates!
This is my first post back on my thread - . I just wanted to clear one thing up from above, both Dale and KB are both right in regards to the type of TARDIS.
Dale is correct , and thanks for compliment!, I am planning on using a real 'fresnel lens' that I picked up at a Hardware Specialty Co., a marine supplier per recommendations from Karst. I will be using this Fresnel lamp lens for my current build, which is a generic old series TARDIS made from generic plans, if generic is the right choice of words to describe someones hard work on developing those plans. I looked basically at Doc Neale's, Karst's and Brachaki plans and made adjustments as I went. I used Glen's manual for the principals/applications and applied the dimensions from predominantly one set of the above plans, but all were referenced and compared. When one first gets started with their build, the hardest part is finding info on dimensions. If you read all the newbies postings on the forum, they are looking for what we all once looked for, plans with measurements to reference, keeping with the sensitive issues with copy right and the BBC and rightly so. Basically, the long of it is as above. My TARDIS is kind of a smorgish board of ideas and signage from all model year TARDIS/MET POLICE BOXES.
KB is correct - he's did send me the 'Garden Lantern' featured on the Thomas Boxes. When I first began my build, I took off like wild fire, I would have my build done in probably 2 months, but Lisa became pregnant, I had some problems with a partner who was embezzling, I ended up getting pneumonia, after this person left the practice, then the old haysack started giving me problems when I ruptured that blasted disc in my back... well, for those watching the threads, you probably seen me at my worst on that one particular post...
CaptainJamesBrooke - many thanks for your kind words!
Anyway, I was and still am wanting to build a New Series TARDIS very much. KB responded to my assistance and now I have a lantern for my next build. This current build is going in my back yard. I wanted to put it in front of the house as a bus stop pick up for Jacob, but Lisa said, "NO WAY! ", so it is going in the back yard.
The New Series TARDIS, given that I have a large amount of wood left over from this first build, will be used once T1 is built. This T2 will live in my basement. It will be set in front of a doorway that will be hidden by the TARDIS and my office/console room will be entered through the TARDIS. A kind of hidden room thing. Very similar to what Crispin did! My basement is quite large and I have 13 courses of block, so the ceilings are quite high. I am going to make a recreation room and small pub, along with the TARDIS against a wall hiding a doorway, along with TARDIS/POLICE BOX blue prints enlarged and framed. These various prints will be hung on display on either side of the TARDIS. A wall of TARDIS/POLICE BOX history. This is my dream. Lisa still thinks I am nuts for the record...
Many thanks to you wonderful folks for being there for me in my time of need. I certainly appreciate all of your input over the past year and half. My life is better for knowing you all. As always, sorry for my long post here!!!

Now for the moment we've been waiting for...
The 'Dr. Iz' TARDIS re-assembled in the basement. This was to be done last year at this time of year when I had to move the TARDIS from workshop/garage to the basement. She sat disassembled until last weekend. There was a little warp age on the back wall, along the left bottom corner. It will not remain flush behind the corner post. There is about a 8mm gap. Otherwise, everything went together as square as square can be. I am also working on a new colour... This is the base coat, and I am waiting for a colour no. from one of our TR2 friends.
Jacob is really happy that we are finishing this build... He loves to paint too. His natural 'goof ups' actually adds character to the 'old girl'...very nice. Oh, the traditional TR2 ladder is in the pic as well. It wouldn't be a post without it .
![[image] [image]](http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h310/jonizdo/Misc%20Pics/th_IMG_0703.jpg)
I am going to finish my sign boxes, get the signs made, then proceed with the window framing and glass/acrylic, next the phone panel door with signage and finally the roof, which I don't think I can get it mounted in the basement. I am only building a 2-step roof. This is my current position and plan. I am very excited.
I value everyones input/comments and interest in my build...Thank you!
Cheers

Hello Mates!
First of all, I have missed you all here on TR2. I have not been active with TARDIS building in quite some time due to many life issues. It's a long story, but there is finally peace in my life with up and coming change in practice venues. I am saying good bye to being a self-employed doctor and going to work for the hospital as an employee. I will be making a better income and have vacation and set hours. My current situation left me only with one week of 'holiday' or vacation over the past 3 years. I am quite mentally and physically fatigued and ready for this change. With this change brings me to a point of returning to my TARDIS building which I have missed so very much.
I am back and it's real this time. I am signing my contract with the hospital next week and then it's a done deal. I am taking three weeks off to regain my sanity. So, look for some more pics of my TARDIS and plans to build a NS TARDIS after I am done. The workshop is open.
My apologies to you all. You have been such great people to have as forum friends. A big piece of me has been missing since I disappeared from this forum. I am eager to get caught up with all the activity and new builds on the forum during the up coming weeks.
Thanks for all the support and understanding.

Welcome back, Jon, it's good to see you back on the boards. I'm glad things are settling down for you, it's always a chore when everything's so full on you just get tired and have neither the time nor the energy to do anything fun.
Congratulations on your new job, and welcome home.

I feel so good reviewing all your comments. Thank you so very much. Being away from this community had left me empty and I feel such warmth of feelings from you all; I don't know how I have made it with out all the continued support. I am finally back home.
I am so eager to get caught up with everyones builds, as well as getting some work done that is greatly overdue on my build as well.
Once again, Thank you for the heart felt welcome home.
Cheers, Jon~

Hello Stranger, nice to see you back on the board.
Sounds like you've been having an interesting few months away and good luck with the change of job - it must be a weight off your mind working for "The System" but at least you're doing what you do best and under less (I say less...) stress.
We all look forward to seeing one box completed and another started.
I'm thinking of changing the board name to "New Series TARDIS Rebuilders" with the amount of replicas of this type going on.

Well, I am back and making a plan of attack on restarting my build. I am hoping to wrap it up before the first day of summer. Then we shall start the next project... the NST. My wife is actually supporting me with the entire idea. She says I need this and she wants me back. It is good to be wanted and needed. That also goes for all of you as well. Thank you.

Well mates, the time has arrived, tomorrow morning is my last day as a 'doctor-business owner'. I officially close down my business for good. I am starting my new job working as an employed hospital owned physician. Finally, I will have peace and time to get back to my life. I will be off on a vacation or holiday if you will, for the next 2 weeks. I am already gearing up for some work on the 'old girl'. I can not wait. I will start uploading pics as I progress. I am so excited to be back.
If you give it your best and it does not work out, then failure is not that hard to accept. The saying, 'Ex malo bonum' comes to mind at the moment. Translated, out of bad comes good!
Thank for being such great mates and I look forward to chatting with you all and catching up all the threads...
Cheers, Jon~
UPDATE: It is done!

Quick update: I spent the entire day getting the workshop ready to start up on my build. I had 2 years of dust and clutter... It's amazing how much stuff ends up in places it really shouldn't with that said, I hope to start some work later this week. It's great to have time again...
Cheers everyone, Jon~

Hi Jon!
Great to see you back - I'm looking forward to seeing your build take shape again. By coincidence, after a very long break (over a year for one reason or another, including moving house to a place with a garage large enough to store it) I'm about to start work on my build again too - I'm picking it up from the workshop weekend after next I'm sure that Tardises are like a good wine - a few months in a dim and dusty storage place and they come out even better! (well, that's what I'm telling myself anyway ) Looking forward to your next lot of photos!
all the best Chris

Mates:
The first work done on the 'old girl' for a very long time! I did just a couple of things and wanted to display some pics to get my thread active again.
I also made a sign box and ran into a small snag with it fitting flush, I am welcome to any comments.
![[image] [image]](http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h310/jonizdo/Header%20and%20Door%20Framing/th_IMG_1504.jpg)
![[image] [image]](http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h310/jonizdo/Header%20and%20Door%20Framing/th_IMG_1505.jpg)
Basically, I can either chisel out the quarter round or cut more out of the sign box. This is the first box, so I have not made any other cut out yet. I better get this figured out before I do the other three.

I welcome all comments and suggestions. Also, PB, if you're looking in on this, I used your design for the boxes and liked the fit that you came up with against the corner posts. I also noticed your quarter round ended at the bottom of the box from the one pic I have of your build. Many thanks!
Demat: Thanks for your comments as well. I appreciate the PM too!
Cheers everyone,
Jon~

looking good, i think i would cut out the sign boxes to fit around the quater round. those posts look great so i would work around them. and the plywood is great to cut round edges with. probably the hardest thing would be getting the first templete made. looks great
