Erm... unless you're expecting people to build models of the console room accurate to the very limit of quantum scales you really, really, really don't need that many decimal places - especially if you're already working in millimeters. After all, your typical atom is only 0.00000001mm in diameter!

Ooh, those are the clearest yet. Where did you get them from? Are there any more?

(And doesn't Sylv look stylish there? ;))

The latest pictures are from a feature called 'Endgame' from second disk of the Survival DVD.

I thought that the details of the top of the time rotor and ceiling were clearer than the material already posted in this thread.

The clips are very short and the angles don't change.

Best regards,
Sean.

The Console controls look suspiciously like Lego, especially the strips along the top edge of the panels near the time rotor...

Did Sylv borrow his glasses from Ollie Plimsolls, of "Legz Akimbo" fame? ;D

I don't think Sylvester is wearing a new "Doctor's" costumer. Rather, he was just acting as a presenter, and therefore, dressed nicely.

The top image is clearer than the other earlier in this thread.

The middle and bottom images give a view we have seen before but not lit in this fashion.

Not really anything new here but every little helps.

I might have a pop at a 3D version myself when your plans are complete :) I do rather like that room, though I may try to put the 1976 classic roundel in it, and make some other tweaks to the visuals :)

Great work there Jordan!

yes rassilon rod when i finish the plans I would like to see anouther version if it in 3d though the console itself will be bit of a challange all of the detail of it etc.

Well ive been altering the console as it was faceing the wrong way though I will start makeing a paper mockup from the current plans just to get the idea of its construction as ive realised that in 1:10th size there would be no real structural problems but if I get the chance to build a full scale one? the angle of the walls and roof might fall down to it would need to be attached to the walls and roof of the building that the console room is in so the walls dont collapse on me.

Looking good there :)

I think the biggest problem you'd have with a life sized model, is hanging a console off a cylinder of glass... Thats never going to work unfortunately... :(

Glass no, but you can get some pretty thick Acrylic that may do the trick, of course a piece in that diameter and the thickness you would need would be pretty expensive.

Of course if you ran a steel pipe down the middle of the Time column and hid it with the parts of the column. Welded a light weight frame to the pipe and made a VERY light weight console on the frame it MIGHT work. That way your wouldn't need too expensive of a piece of acylic to do the job. Just a thought.

hmm it seems that this will only be in 3d or 10th scale
its unlikely that zoe will be at the console as it might fall, break and release all of the energy in the time rotor and the dr wouldent be too happy anyways.

just to paraphase the dr
well i was hopeing that one day it will be made to full scale, yes full scale until then there must be to tears no anxietys just move forward in all your belifes and prove to me that Im not mistaken in mine.

well it was originally made by mike tucker for the dr who 30th anniversary though when i heard about it I got what infomation I could find though it wasnt enough thankfully some other forum members helped me greatly and then I started to make blurprints to it and the 3d model helped a lot.

well that sums it up

Hey Jordan,

I just had a go at knocking up a basic model using your plans. I think that either I made a mistake or some of your numbers are a little caca...

Here is a render of front and side (you'll see why thats important when mixing hexagons and cylinders - from one angle the sides are met and from the other the corners are not met... gives quite a different view). I think thats probably one reason why they have added that nicely detailed collar on the new series console. The struts still form a hex shape even though the whole thing is rounded now...

I think maybe it could be fixed by enlarging the part I have called "Table". but that would throw off the parts above the column.

The only correction I made to your measurements was the Time Column cylinder cos that was an easy one (not a lot of time today...)

The other obvious issue is the underside of the console (the hex part) the smaller of the 2 diameters seems to be a bit big...

I have assumed from the angle of your plan, that in each case you're talking about corner to corner measurements of the hex, rather than side to side.

Here are some images to illustrate what I have done :)

I found it easier to work in CM rather than mm so I made this spreadsheet.

Here is a composite of the full views, not a lot to see here. (click it if you like :))

Close up views of the main part of the console.

Suggestions welcome of course - and feel free to call me a twonk if I've been playing like a pudding ((c) Timothy Spall) :)
