I've been gathering together accurate measurements for the mk 2 met box, these come from the Trench plans and dims taken from the Crich box by Mark.
Here is a first draft of the new bluprints.
And a higher resolution copy - right click and save...
I've only included CONFIRMED measurements so there are still some missing. I'm still looking for confirmed measurements for the three steps at the top of the box and the overall height of the pillars (94 inches?) if anyone wants to add their own confirmed dims please feel free!
I measured the pillars on the Codsteaks and when scaled up they appear closer to 7 but I'm unsure about the accuracy of that particular model.
I'm going to do a top view of the Met box next and I'm trying to find out how deep the doors are in relation to the pillars. I do know the door panels are .75 deep though. Does anyone know how close the 46.25 and 43.25 measurements are? Now I know the 49.50 measurement I'm thinking 46.50 and 43.50 respectively - can anyone confirm or deny this? Once I can confirm these measurements we'll have the most complete dimensions around.

Again, if you go according to the existing Met plans, the measurements for the pillars from the top of the base to the bottom of the signbox are labelled as 7 feet 2 inches and the measurement from the ground to the base of the sloping part of the roof is stated as 9 feet 1 inch.
The pillar width, including the 1 inch beading detail on each corner of the post is stated at 7 inches in total - 5 inches for the flat face, and 1 inch each for the bead details, giving inches for each face in total.
Is anyone clever enough to create a Sketchup box using the plans? I'd love to see this as a three dimensional image before it's built. I've been trying to get my head around sketchup but it's eluding me right at the moment.
I have your season 18 and it's a bloody nice Sketchup, all you have to do is change the design style and the lines will show up better... Here's mine at about 95% - I'm very, very pleased with how the the Fresnel turned out.
Finally I've textured mapped the model using a "piece" of the Crich box;
For some reason I can't upload it to the Sketchup warehouse but if anyone wants to download the free version of Sketchup I will pm you the skp file, the file is less than 2 mb and when used in conjunction with the measuring tool you've got a complete 3d set of accurate blueprints.
