Hyde Fundraisers are offering you a chance to own one of the promotional police boxes created by The Museum Of Science & Industry Manchester when they hosted the UpClose Exhibition. Last year BBC Manchester raffled one of the boxes for Children In Need and now we have the final box available to raise funds for our nominated charities. Its certainly had a battering over the last couple of years but the solid construction will be ideal for budding Timelords to enjoy. Currently the box is at the Ladysmith Shoping Centre in Ashton-under-Lyne promoting our event on May 23rd! If you want to have this box all you need to do is email your bid and contact details email@example.com before May 30th. The highest bidder wins and will be able to collect the box once funds have been recieved for our charities. Please note winner will have to arrange and source their own transport with the box not being a working model!
Any idea which box this will be and what the one last year was? Bill Rudloff
The museum of science and industry made 4 tardis props and placed them in various places around the city to promote them hosting the "Dr Who Up Close" exhibition. I was recently offered the one that was won on Children in Need and turned it down - the woman who won it decided she didn't want it when she realised she would have to collect it herself.
They're solid but simple, with no opening door and no windows - they're just painited. They're a bit thin and the lamps are shocking, but a fun display item , if you have the room!
