Here's some valuable information on FRESNEL LENSES...
FYI: Karst and Purple got their Fresnel lens from Hardware Specialty Co. Their particular lens measurements: height 6" x diameter 6.5"
Hardware Specialty was very helpful. They have about a total of 30-40 glass 360 degree Fresnel lenses left in stock. They have not sold the glass ones in quite some time. Cost is $44.00 US. The information below is courtesy of Karst for those interested.

Yep. I ordered both of my lenses from Hardware Specialty. They packaged both of the lenses so well I don't they would have broken even if I dropped the box. They were very courteous and the shipping only took about 4 days to reach me.
I started a key to time project a while back which got me working with clear resin and silicone mold rubber. This got me to wondering if it would be possible to cast an entire fresnel lense and if you could, would it stand up to the out doors and the heat from a light and how long will it take to get overly yellowed from the sun.
So I found one that was, I believed, to be close to the correct size and not super nauticaly collector priced. Mostly meaning it's not clear, and it has quite a few chips but no cracks. Color dosen't matter because, maybe someday, it will simply be a mold master.
If it worked, wasn't too much trouble, or cost too much in resin to produce it /might/ be an alternative or atleast temporary alternative to finding an actual glass lense.
Or so the theory goes. Sadly I'm not moveing very quickly on my key project either but I figured atleast haveing the lense stareing at me would be a reminder.
