I was under the impression, and lots of sources seem to say this, that the panels on the walls of the new series TARDIS are wider than the door panels, and that they were narrowed for the doors to look a bit more "traditional" (or "better", depending how you look at it). However, there is a Sketchup Model (sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=9d1b22dbe8e7e0d89be1acc614b5e1e1&prevstart=0) that is apparently built from accurate measurements of the prop (although it doesn't say WHICH of the props)... and it certainly LOOKS right, but they panels on all 4 walls are of the same width.
I don't know if the guy who built this model is still around on these boards. But if anyone else can shed any light on it I'd be happy
He may have measured one of the two original props made where the doors had the wider panels like the other sides before Russell T. said to make two more with narrower panels on the doors so they were more in proportion with the door sign. The first two boxes door sign had wider strips on the side than the strips on the top and bottom. Bill Rudloff
