Hi Ironage That's the pond pic I found and it brings back memories. I was born less than a mile from there and I remember this police box well. This is an early pic as I can remember the squares of foliage eclipsing the box as they'd grown considerably and we'd have to "find" it in games. Sorry to bore but it's real nostalgia for me and I thank you from the heart. KB PS 4x K6s in the Coulsdon pic too
...No... I still can't find the box in the Herne Hill picture!
This is Old Coulsdon - is that technically outside Greater London? Does that make it a Met-style box under the ownership of a different force? Must check; I've a map of the Met areas somewhere. Anyhow, here's the picture:
(Not a Frith picture; is that cheating?) The picture's from 1933 so it's a paler blue box - and it appears to have a red lamp. (Hey, who needs colour photography when you've got wild guesswork?)

Hello everyone, this is my first post here. Thanks to everyone who gave good feedback on my K6 restoration which can be seen in the "Kingbees Build Help?" thread.
Here's a pic I found again whilst browsing last night and finally worked out how to save it to post it here, a really good high definition version of the picture can be seen here : www.trolleybus.net/subhtml/picture293.htm Hope you like this one Dad. Apparently it's at Shannon Corner in New Maldon?!?
This I found on some website last night and i've never seen it before, Longhurst Lane in Coventry, the site suggests it's still there. It swears it's a police box and the second picture shows the telephone panel. The front looks incredibly like the Sheffield box with the windows covered up. Thoughts?

Honestly... I spend just a few days away and everyone's gone Met box mad!!! As for the pseudo Sheffield box, there are too many similarities to discount the possibility that it was once a police box and has now been converted for use as something else...it almost reminds me of a shed box. Where is it anyway?

That's good, I will go to coventry one day and see if I can find it.
Today I went to Southampton to try and find a blue K6 down there but couldn't find it so on the way home I decided to go up to Northwood first and get a picture of the Police Post outside the Police Station and here it is......
Judging from the phone in it and the message in the window, the phone can be used to contact the police when the station is closed. Isn't that what they were designed for? Also, I noticed it's got a fresnel, I didn't think the posts had these?
Wouldn't one of these look great in the back garden with Dad's build and the K6 & letter box! I know somewhere that sells these for £6,800 which to earn i'd have to work non stop for about 5 years I think!!!
I must be honest I didn't think to look inside the lense to see if there was a light in it or not, i'm sure i'll be back in the area again sometime so next time i'll have a look.
Nice one RP, no blue ones-but I've seen some baige ones recently.
There's a place down in Southampton called Ocean Village. There is a blue K6 in the residential area which unfortunately is residents only and there was a lot of security so I could not get in to find it.
Does anyone know anyone who lives there that could let me in to see it???
